The honest version

You don't need a prettier store.

You need a store that makes it easier for customers to understand your products, trust your brand and buy. Those are three different jobs, and most redesigns only do the first.

A Shopify store can look immaculate and still lose money. We have audited plenty that do. The gap is almost never the visual design — it is navigation people can't follow, product pages that don't answer the obvious question, and a mobile checkout nobody tested on a real phone.

So we design against the buying decision. Every screen has a job, and that job is the next click. If a section doesn't help someone buy, it doesn't ship.

01 / What you get

What's included in a Shopify web design project.

Scope varies with the store, but a full design build normally covers all of this.

Discovery & strategy

Products, margins, customers and commercial objectives. What the store has to achieve, in numbers.

UX & wireframes

Navigation, collection structure, product page layout and the full conversion journey, mapped before any visual design.

Visual design

A storefront built around your brand — homepage, collection, product, cart, checkout and the pages nobody remembers until launch.

Mobile-first design

Designed on mobile first, because that's where most of your traffic and most of your drop-off is.

Product page design

Imagery, variants, specifications, reviews, delivery and returns — arranged so the obvious questions get answered before they're asked.

Navigation & filtering

Menu structure, collection logic and filters that work when the catalogue grows past fifty products.

Shopify development

The approved design built properly in Shopify or Shopify Plus. Clean theme code, not a page builder held together with apps.

Performance

A performance budget enforced through the build, and Core Web Vitals checked on real mid-range devices.

Migration

Moving from WooCommerce, Magento, Wix or an older Shopify theme, with redirects mapped so you keep your rankings.

Launch & QA

Full testing across devices and browsers, analytics and tracking verified, then a launch that doesn't lose a day of trading.

02 / Process

How the build runs.

Six stages from first call to a store that keeps improving after launch.

01

Strategy

Understand products, customers and commercial objectives.

We start with the numbers and the customer, not a mood board. What sells, what doesn't, who buys, and what the store actually has to hit.

02

UX & wireframes

Plan navigation, collections, product pages and conversion journey.

Structure before styling. We map how someone gets from landing to checkout, and design the route before anyone picks a colour.

03

Design

Create the visual storefront around the brand.

Now the visual work — desktop and mobile, built on a design system your team can extend rather than a set of one-off screens.

04

Shopify development

Build the approved design properly inside Shopify.

Clean theme development on Shopify or Shopify Plus, with apps and integrations wired in and a performance budget held throughout.

05

CRO & testing

Improve trust, usability, mobile experience and purchase flow.

We test rather than assume — offers, copy, layout and checkout, against conversion data instead of opinion.

06

Launch & growth

Launch the store and continue with SEO and CRO if required.

Launch is the start. From there it's ongoing conversion work and search visibility, for as long as it's worth doing.

03 / Results

What the work has produced.

FAQ

Shopify web design, answered

What is included in a Shopify web-design project?

Discovery and strategy, UX and wireframes, full visual design across every template, Shopify development, mobile optimisation, performance work, QA and launch. Migration and post-launch CRO or SEO are included where the project needs them.

Do you build from scratch or use themes?

Both, depending on what serves the store. A custom build gives you complete control and no compromise; starting from a well-built theme is faster and cheaper where the requirements are straightforward. We'll tell you honestly which one your project needs rather than defaulting to the more expensive option.

Can you redesign an existing Shopify store?

Yes, and it's a large part of what we do. If a store is already trading we usually start with an audit, because the fix is often targeted rather than a full rebuild — and that's a much cheaper way to get the same lift.

How much does Shopify web design cost?

from £899 all the way to £10,000. Cost depends on the number of templates, whether you're migrating, and how much custom functionality is involved. We give a fixed quote after the first call, not an hourly estimate that drifts.

How long does a Shopify build take?

Most full builds run 4 to 12 weeks from kick-off to launch. A focused redesign or conversion project on an existing store is usually 2 to 5 weeks. Migrations sit in the middle, depending on catalogue size.

Do you handle mobile UX?

Mobile is designed first, not adapted afterwards. Most ecommerce traffic and most drop-off is on mobile, so the phone layout is the one we design against and the one we test on real mid-range devices rather than a desktop browser resized.

Do you build product pages?

Yes — and they're usually where the money is. Imagery, variant selection, specifications, reviews, delivery and returns, all arranged so the questions that stop a purchase get answered before the customer has to look for them.

Do you handle navigation, collections and filtering?

Yes. Menu structure, collection logic and filtering are designed around how your customers actually shop. This is the part that quietly breaks as a catalogue grows, so we build it to handle the range you'll have in two years.

Can you migrate an existing store?

Yes — from WooCommerce, Magento, Wix, BigCommerce or an older Shopify theme. Products, customers and orders come across, and we map redirects so you keep the rankings and traffic you've already earned.

Do you provide CRO?

Yes. Conversion work is the core of what we do rather than an add-on. That means structured testing on offers, layout, copy and checkout, reported against conversion rate and average order value — not sessions.

Do you provide SEO after launch?

Yes. Technical SEO, content and answer-engine optimisation so you're found in Google and in AI search. Plenty of clients keep us on for this after the build; plenty don't, and that's fine too.
